Privacy & community safety
Effective with the privacy and safety update, October 2026.
Instil Hub is operated by INSTIL INSTITUTE OF COMMERCE PRIVATE LIMITED. Contact our privacy, safety and support team at rinshadacca@gmail.com. This notice describes the Hub chat app. Your separate exam-platform and ERP services retain their own records and access.
Information Hub uses
- Your existing Instil account identifier and email for sign-in; your chosen profile name, course, photo and description; confirmation that you meet the minimum age and have accepted community rules.
- Learning-group membership, staff roles, selected-friend relationships, optional online status and last seen. Hub does not import your phone’s address book.
- Messages, uploaded documents, images, voice recordings, videos, doubt requests, responses, ratings, posts, stories, comments, likes, shares and story-view records.
- Message delivery/read receipts, notification choices and device notification tokens, delivery results, errors and device/app diagnostic metadata used to run and support the service.
Purpose and service providers
We use Hub information to provide learning conversations and content, assign and answer doubts, display community activity, send requested notifications, manage access, moderate abuse and support the service. Instil does not sell Hub data or use it for advertising tracking.
Google Firebase provides authentication, databases, file storage and messaging infrastructure. Apple’s notification service delivers iPhone notifications. These providers process service and device information to operate their systems. See Firebase’s privacy information and Apple’s privacy information. Connections are secured in transit; Hub messages are not end-to-end encrypted.
Who can see content
Chat content is available to its participants; group content to relevant group members; selected-friends stories to their selected audience; community posts and stories to signed-in Hub participants. Assigned support staff and authorized superadmins can access relevant doubt requests. Authors can see their story viewers. Other participants can see message delivery/read receipts. Reports share the reported content and the reporter’s explanation with the superadmin for safety review. Do not include confidential information in community posts.
Permissions and choices
Camera and microphone access is used when you choose to record or attach media. Change these permissions in your phone settings. In My profile, edit your details or hide your online status. Notification settings let you choose activity alerts. Blocking prevents direct contact and hides that member’s social content; it does not remove their contributions from shared group conversations. You can report messages, posts, stories, comments and members.
Retention and deleting your Hub account
Hub keeps account and content records to operate the service until they are removed through deletion or administrative cleanup. Stories become unavailable to their audience after 24 hours; expiry alone does not physically erase the stored records or uploads. Moderation removal hides reported content and queues its attached files for deletion.
Open My profile → Delete my Hub account, confirm your current password and type DELETE. This starts an irreversible process to remove your Hub profile, authored messages and content, uploaded media, interactions, group memberships, notification registrations and related Hub records. Access closes immediately. Processing happens in the background; return to the app and select Check deletion status to see confirmation when it finishes. No email or support conversation is required to start the process.
Your separate exam-platform and ERP account and records remain available. A minimal hashed completion receipt is retained to prevent Hub from silently recreating your deleted profile. Deletion cannot recall copies that others already downloaded. For records about you published by someone else, access/correction requests, or questions about provider backups, contact the privacy team. This notice does not promise removal of records held independently in the separate exam-platform or ERP services.
Community rules and age
Hub is intended for users aged 14 and above. The App Store’s age rating is a separate classification. Users confirm their eligibility in the app; Hub does not collect a date of birth for this confirmation.
Harassment, hateful or sexual content, threats, exploitation, spam and sharing another person’s private information without permission are prohibited. A basic text filter checks common abusive terms; it cannot detect every harmful message or inspect all images and recordings. Use Report for concerns, including content unsuitable for the app’s age rating. The superadmin reviews reports and can remove content or suspend Hub access. Contact the safety team to appeal a decision.
Changes and contact
We will update this notice when Hub’s practices change. Contact rinshadacca@gmail.com for privacy, safety or support questions. Instil’s general privacy policy also covers its wider educational services.
